Amybeth McNulty (born in Dublin in Ireland) is an Irish Canadian actor. Her most well-known role is her leading role as Anne Shirley on the CBC/Netflix Drama series Anne with an E. The show was inspired by Lucy Maud Montgomery's book Anne of Green Gables from 1908. Amybeth McNulty grew up in Milford County Donegal Ireland. Her father is Irish as is her mother Canadian. Amybeth was conceived on November 7th of 2001 in Ireland. In 2023, she will turn twenty. She was born in Donegal and raised there. She holds Irish citizenship and Canadian citizenship. Her natural hair shade is blonde. Anne has also had a complicated relationship with Gilbert Blythe who was two years older than Anne however he was studying at the same grade after having his education stopped when his father fell unwell. On their first meeting as schoolmates Gilbert teased Anne by giving her the nickname Carrots. Amybeth McNulty's Anne is a 13-year young girl, who lived an unhappy childhood, living in orphanages as well as the homes of strangers. In the late 1890s Anne is mistakenly sent to live with aging siblings Marilla and Matthew Cuthbert who live on Prince Edward Island. They're all very happy when the show ends in 1919. Gilbert has aged to 55, yet he is passionately in love with Anne.
